Bedtime

Denia enjoying her new cozy dog bed. Gordmans has great deals on beds. This one was around $10. Bach saying his bed time prayers. Such sweet pups!

Below is new Petfinder write up...

Gardenia:

Gardenia is 11 weeks old as I write this update and she’s very pretty! She is graceful with longer legs and has an adorable sweet face! She is calm and snuggly and has scruffy creamy fur which is longer in length than her siblings. I take her with me sometimes in the car and even bought her her own dog bed as she likes quiet time away from the others. She enjoys toys and chewies and takes treats from my hand. We call her Denia for short and she now comes to me when called.

She will be fun to spoil and coddle. Denia is smart and will be a wonderful companion to anyone! I adore everything about her and enjoy her as my foster. Potty training is going great and she easily does business outside (and on puppy pads). Denia is a love!

Bachelor:

Bachelor Button is 11 weeks old as I write this update and he is such a comical and lovable little man! He has super short fur that just shines along with little white toes and a speckled chest. We call him Bach and he totally knows his name! He is curious but does not get into much trouble... he loves sports and fetch is his game! He gets picked on by his sissies but never becomes too upset. He takes it in stride! (He’s just the little brother that they like to keep in line!) Bachelor makes a cute grrr sound when playing and he loves string beans out of the garden!

‘The Bachelor’ will be giving out his rose soon... hope he chooses you! He’s everyone’s dream boat!

Marigold:

Marigold has blossomed at 11 weeks old as I write this. She is living up to her name as a beautiful rusty red flower and has the most darling face and big ears! Marigold loves a fun game of chase with her siblings and takes running leaps and flying dives onto the bed of soft foliage by my patio! It’s adorable to watch! They all rumble and tumble as they take turns with this game!

Mari is full of spunk when playing but comes to me for cuddle time. She loves being scratched by her ears and she is mesmerized by the TV. She will watch it with me and fall asleep in my arms. What a great girl! Everything about Mari is thumbs up! Potty training is on target outside using the grass and inside on potty pads. Chew toys and big dog pillows are her go to favorites!

Hollyhocks:

Miss Holly is 11 weeks today as I write this update and is still the smallest puppy. She has bigger shiny eyes and a cute little elf face. I love her little worried looks she gives! She is scrappy but so loving and doesn’t let her size slow her down. Holly has, from day one, climbed on my lap when I sit on the floor and still loves to perch high above her siblings. She was the first to leap into the garden box to explore and loves to chew or tug on green beans just like her brother Bachelor Button. Holly is strawberry blond in color with black highlights and she loves all toys and chewies. The 3 girl puppies are wearing diamond collars and little Holly looks especially sweet with her sparkles! She is doing well with using potty pads in the house and the grass outside. If you like tiny dogs Hollyhocks should be your flower to pick!

Hunny Hollyhocks

Oh little Miss Holly... those Chi ears are so tired they are like Eeyore ears! Don’t worry.. they will pop up again and you will be the mouse! Holly weighs in at only 3 lbs. She is the tiny little twerp who has lighter fur than her twin sister, Mari. Holly just melts my heart with that worried look she always has on her elfin face. Holly sat so quietly for her pictures and I almost thought she’d take a nap!

The bow on her ear is actually a baby bow and she never even felt it! So adorable!

Marigold video

Do you see her hiccup? Then try and chase her tail?! Marigold is really cute! Inside and out!!!πŸ’“

Buddy Boy Bachelor

Bachelor Button also known here as "Bach" is the coolest and funniest dude pup around! It’s sheer entertainment watching him handle all those girls... just like the show The Bachelor!!! He is growing cuddlier by the minute and one day he will be someone’s snuggle-bud! Bach is weighing in at 3 lbs 6 oz and is learning to take treats from my hand and knows the word treat! What boy doesn’t like his food, right?!?

I love his Packer beads... a fan in training!!!

Gorgeous Gardenia

I could easily spoil this one to pieces! I love Gardenia’s longer elegant legs and her dark eyes contrast so pretty against her creamy fur. She is picture perfect and loves being by her people. She weighed in at 3 lbs 13oz today. She is my classy pup and looks dainty with diamonds!

Denia is looking like a fashion queen with a black and pearl collar... it is one of my vintage bracelets.

Marvelous Marigold 🌸

In the last few days Miss Marigold’s ears have started to pop up! She is just lovely and looks so "pretty in pink"!!! She weighed in at 3 lbs 8 oz today. She has deep red fur, especially on her head. What a sweet lil’ beauty queen!!!

Her pearl collar is a bracelet I wore at my wedding! :)

Just a puppy and her pearls. 🌸

9 week pictures!

Batchie is getting more speckles on his feet!

Pups are doing great. They are running and active outside. They spend a little more time up in my laundry room with a baby gate. I lay down a puppy pad. I know Gardenia is great about using the puppy pad. I haven’t seen who else is consistent. I’ll have to watch closer. In their pen in the basement I cover the whole floor so there are no mistakes.

I no longer have to carry them up the stairs in the morning. I just lift them out of their pen. They all run up the steps and head out to back yard. Getting easier! Yay!!!

Sunday Breakfast of Champs!

Hungry puppies!

A MUST read

In case... you have not heard the story on how the mommy dog of the puppies, Zinnia, got rescued I thought I would share the story. This is from the rescue person in Alabama:

"Zinnia and Evan (note, he is already adopted) came from a home that had 30 chihuahuas. The dogs were terrified of us. We managed to catch them one by one. We left several, due to some being their original pets 10+ years old.

Some of the chihuahua's would shoot out the vents in the floor to get away. So we left live traps for them.

My post the night after catching the 21 chihuahuas.......I love what I do. But days like today makes things very emotional.

Today I met a elderly couple struggling to stay alive, fighting to keep their animals alive. The dogs were fed, watered, and loved. They reached out to 2 shelters LAST year including our own, but were turned away because the shelters were over loaded.

The owners health took a downward spiral last month, which ended them both in the Er/hospital by ambulance.

I was just standing their in disbelief, and utter disgust, as they told me about the doctor refusing to treat them because of their smell. What? Are you kidding me??? I watched how she cried because now she is scared to walk in the store/pharmacy/doctors office because of the way she has been treated. The paramedic which picked her up from her home, yelling across the ER, about her dogs & home to the nurses in front of a crowd of people.

I watched the man shake with Parkinson’s unable to hold his cup still, while trying to drink from a straw, explain how scary it was to watch his wife lay motionless on the floor and the paramedics arguing on who will come in the home.

Both Monica and I stayed a little longer than usual in the home to listen to the couple talk. She showed us some amazing crochet work she does to pass her time. We listened to places they lived, to some of the amazing wild animals they have seen out in the deep woods they live in. The husband made his way out to David, like men talked about the cars, and what ever else men talk about. Before we left from the 1st trip, we got to talking about food...(one of many of my favorite subjects.) She mentioned about how she wished she could just sit down and eat at a restaurant again. I asked oh yeah which restaurant would you pick if you went out to eat? She said it’s been a while since she had catfish. I told her about the $5 baskets David's Catfish has, she stopped me in mid sentence and said they have the best coleslaw.

So forwarding on a long story... while staff & volunteers were working on settling in the 1st 19 dogs. David (with a heart of gold) went to Davids Catfish & picked up a 2 Catfish meals & a large coleslaw. We finished & headed back out to the home.

The couples eyes lit up when we pulled the plates out. She said you did not have to bring us back anything. Both Monica & I reassured her it’s for them. They have had a harder day than us & we just wanted them to enjoy. Before we left, she grabbed my arm and said...."Thank you for everything...for treating us like humans"

So here is my conclusion...if your still here with me at this point of my long post.

What if that shelter opened their doors & helped when they asked last year? Would they be in the shape they were in today?

Could you imagine how scary it was for them to ask strangers to come in & help when they were treated so wrongly not to long ago?

Can you imagine feeling so low you can’t even leave home?"

Lunch Time pics:

Today it was rainy so lunch was served on puppy pads in the "balcony seating" area...aka the back door landing! Everyone still went outside to do business. Good pups!

Holly always finishes eating last. She often comes back to clean up the remaining food after the others are done. She has figured out quickly there is less competition at the end. Smart cookie!

Look at Holly’s cute little foot grasping the small ball! Just her size!

^^Gardenia likes to sit up on the steps and watch the world from her perch!

Not to be out done, Holly tries out the step view as well!

This pic above shows the different personalities. Nobody here is shy... nope. Just some puppies are bold and some are more careful!

Snuggling the "littles" in above picture. πŸ’•

Below the "biggies" are getting their πŸ’œ luv πŸ’œ too and then fall fast asleep. #Sweeties!
