Look at all the room on my couch but Mugsy is a snuggle bug. Yep my feet are under the blanket which is under Mugs... Who has toasty toes? ... I do !!! #fridaynightmovie
I volunteer as a foster for Fluffy Dog Rescue and WI Westie Rescue. I live in a quirky old house, with my family, that we fondly call "The Plantation". It is here that we "fall in love" with every dog we foster! The purpose of this blog is to provide additional photos, descriptions and videos so you can learn more about our fluffy foster and follow his or her journey until a fur-ever home is found. You may even "fall in love" just like we have!!! Thanks for looking and for choosing RESCUE!

Freeze yogurt in kongs!!!
A great tip from Fluffy dog rescue... Freeze yogurt in Kong's and give to your dog before you go to work. It will make kennel time a happy and "looked forward to" event and no more whining!!!

Mugsy and Food
Mugs is NOT in any way aggressive towards people with food. I have taken away treats and put my hand by him when he's eating. He is Perfect!! He does growl at another dog if he feels his food could be stolen. He probably had to fend for himself in his former life-- he may grow out of his food protection once he trusts he will have food available and not go hungry!! Here he is lounging on the upstairs couch... His big paws show up on this photo. Love those paws!!!
Friday at home!
Today I have off work. Making cookies with little Mugsy. He sticks right by me and even will sit with his head resting on my foot as I read over recipes. He melts my heart !
I gave him a bath last night. He did great! His wet black fur made him look like a silky black seal!
Mugs does not like the blow dryer. So we just used 2 towels and he was dry in no time and now smells so good!
I just dragged his comfy bed over by the stove and he's all curled up napping! Look at his cute tail... the tip wasn't shaved so he has a fluffy Pom Pom. :)

Mugsy was Brave
He is resting nicely. He has one "poodle style" leg where his fluids were taped on. I don't think he is part poodle, hee hee! Well maybe just his leg is!!!
First night back = emergency vet
Scary scenario: waking up to a vomiting dog and have him collapse! A little after 4:00 am we rushed little Mugs to the emergency vet. Dr believes it's anaphylactic shock from worm die off. I believe he will recover and this kinda thing is rare. He will spend the day at my vet clinic for observation. Prayers for the Mugster!
Well~ all is well! Prayers answered!!! He fought off those wormies like a toughie and is home relaxing in his kennel in the kitchen. Day one accomplished! :) Mugsy was a wonderful brave doggie through it all. He even padded around Doctor's office w his big snowshoe paws greeting the other dogs w a tail wag n sniff once he felt better. So proud of him and soooo thankful he is feeling better!

Heart worm treatment
When I took Mugs in for his heart worm check he tested positive. Grrrr! What does this mean? It means during his life in Alabama no human bothered to care enough to give him a simple once a month preventative. So Mugs got bitten by a mosquito who carried heart worm and he got infected. He had to get treatment. He has been gone from our home for almost a week. He is getting 2 painful shots to kill the worms. These worms will die and be absorbed by the body. In order to keep this process from harming him w an embolism my job for one MONTH will be to keep him quiet. No running or playing or jumping. Just out to do his business, chew a bone, or snuggle. That's it. When February 16 rolls around I think we should throw a little party for him :-)! We currently are waiting for Mugs to return and praying that all goes well! Once his treatment is finished he will be all ready for adoption February 16!!! Who wouldn't want such a sweetie pie?!?

Little Mugsy loves wearing his outfits! Of course dressing this little guy up is way to fun for me too!!!
Mugsy
Mugsy who just arrived to De Pere WI is such a soft huggable little boy. We love having him curl up and be our little lap warmer.
