I volunteer as a foster for Fluffy Dog Rescue and WI Westie Rescue. I live in a quirky old house, with my family, that we fondly call "The Plantation". It is here that we "fall in love" with every dog we foster! The purpose of this blog is to provide additional photos, descriptions and videos so you can learn more about our fluffy foster and follow his or her journey until a fur-ever home is found. You may even "fall in love" just like we have!!! Thanks for looking and for choosing RESCUE!

Heart worm treatment
When I took Mugs in for his heart worm check he tested positive. Grrrr! What does this mean? It means during his life in Alabama no human bothered to care enough to give him a simple once a month preventative. So Mugs got bitten by a mosquito who carried heart worm and he got infected. He had to get treatment. He has been gone from our home for almost a week. He is getting 2 painful shots to kill the worms. These worms will die and be absorbed by the body. In order to keep this process from harming him w an embolism my job for one MONTH will be to keep him quiet. No running or playing or jumping. Just out to do his business, chew a bone, or snuggle. That's it. When February 16 rolls around I think we should throw a little party for him :-)! We currently are waiting for Mugs to return and praying that all goes well! Once his treatment is finished he will be all ready for adoption February 16!!! Who wouldn't want such a sweetie pie?!?
