The puppies love it outside! They are starting to go outside for potties now but don't get any ideas... they are not yet potty trained!!!  They are just "getting the concept" and seem to prefer to go out to do business. They still are in a pen in my kitchen with newspapers/pads at one end. I take them outside as much as I can! 

They have sharp little teeth and enjoy chewing on bones, deer antlers and stinky cow hooves! They also have a muddy spot in the yard that they nose around in and I'm often shooing them away from that muddy patch! 

The puppies are not yet altered so that appointment will be made down the road. 

I have introduced them to nail clippings, baths and the blow dryer. They like the blow dryer the least but most dogs are not a fan of that noisy machine!

They both love treats and gobble them up like candy. I guess that's kinda what they are...dog candy! I also give the pups carrots and both enjoy this healthy snack. :)

We don't get candy... just carrots in our Easter baskets! Do we look like bunnie's?!? Hmpf!

It's a "good" Friday

Puppies are being given more freedom. 

They are growing up bit by little bit!!!

Here is Kauai lazily laying under a table being very "good". She is keeping busy chewing on a blue felt covered bone.

She is now beginning to come running when called and is also learning the word "treats"! I do call her Sissy but you can pick out whatever name you like! She will learn it in no time! Sissy (Kauai) has also learned to climb up stairs. She cannot yet go down. Her legs are growing a bit longer so she can outrun brother Lanai pretty easily but he follows best he can ;)! Her favorite game, besides pouncing on her little brother, is fetch! Tug the toy is a close second!!! What a "good" little fluffy she is!!! :))))

Sissy is asleep but little brother says, "pick me up!?!" Awww!

Puppy Love

My son loves little Lanai (we fondly call Lanai "Dennis"- the menace). I often find him just carrying Dennis around the house. Pretty cute to see a big strong guy melted by a wee pup !!!

Puppies love to be busy at this age! They are comical and adorable to watch! These two are "happy mood" boosters :)!

Personalities

If you have had the chance to watch a few of my "puppy videos" you will notice each puppy has a unique personality. Which is your favorite???

The girl puppy, Kauai, is bigger and bolder. She loves to play and jump and use her little brother as a toy to pounce on. She is such a carefree happy camper!!! Kauai is a bit more vocal and barks when things do not go her way but is a sweetie who often lets her brother win in the end. She has the cutest pig tail ears and is super soft! Kauai loves her snuggles with mommy and often finds strands of my hair to tug on while I hold her!! She is fun to dress up and spoil and doesn't mind wearing pink puppy dresses at all! What a doll!!!

The boy puppy, Lanai, is my little explorer who follows his nose around the yard and waddles with his shorty legs and hiney wiggle into the mud to chew parsley in my emerging herb bed. He crabs momentarily at sissie's pounces but he can totally get "his way" over bones and chewies. He is a loving fuzzy mommy boy who whines softly under his breath and worries, like Eyore, "over nothing" until you hold him close and he settles down. It's very endearing! His secret charm is to sit quietly and look up sweetly until you can't help but pick him up...he is totally irresistible !!!

Getting BIGGER

Since the little island pups are playing outside now I figured they should wear "collars n tags". They don't seem to mind at all! Lanai has purple and Kauai has pink.

Mine ... No Mine!

In a tug o war battle my money might be on Kauai not on Lanai, after all, she is bigger! Only thing is little Lanai never gives up! He's scrappy!  Notice who has the rope at the end and Kauai resorts to barking?!? Haha!!! Kauai is much more coordinated than her little brother in running though  … He's just a little pipsqueak and slips n slides as he tries to catch up to her. He will get there!!!

He watches his "Sissy" all the time and tries to do what she does --it's just the cutest thing ever!!!

Had to post this cute side view pic of Lanai-- that little nose!!! He is so snuggly laying his head on my arm. 

Even at such a young age the puppies are getting into a routine. Both know when it's "nigh nigh" time and are quiet and settled down all night! They are still little babies but sure know me! When I come downstairs in the morning or home from being out its a joyful-barkey-wiggle butt explosion of happy greetings! Pick us up!! Pick us up!!! Wiggle wiggle yipe yipe!!!! We love you mommy!!! Soooo muchy!! These pups are heart stealers!!!

Puppies are lively this morning! Oh do they get excited to see the bigger dogs!!! Snorkel is the most curious.

Kauia is an angel girl for the most part! Very well behaved and proper! Keeps her area clean and is very much the princess! Loves her tummy rubbed and her leg will paddle in happiness!!! She is a bit selfish though as she wants alllll the toys to herself and can give little bro a yipe when he wants her to share. Pesky brothers!!!

Lanai dreaming of chasing balls..woof!!!

Lanai keeps us in stitches! He always has an eye on us! He often takes his food to his bed to chew. Back and forth he goes! A bit more into "trouble" and "adventure" then his sister he will hop the wooden barrier and get stuck between the fence and wood and of course cry pitifully for help! Then do it again :)!!! He also likes to hog all the chewies to himself and grrrr at sissy! Haha!!!
