Thanks for choosing rescue.
I volunteer as a foster for Fluffy Dog Rescue and WI Westie Rescue. I live in a quirky old house, with my family, that we fondly call "The Plantation". It is here that we "fall in love" with every dog we foster! The purpose of this blog is to provide additional photos, descriptions and videos so you can learn more about our fluffy foster and follow his or her journey until a fur-ever home is found. You may even "fall in love" just like we have!!! Thanks for looking and for choosing RESCUE!

Little Summary ...
After having Little about a month as our foster dog here is what we can tell you about him:
Personality: Super duper snuggly and loving towards his family! He will lean into my chest and hug me. He is a terrier too as he likes to chase things like bunnies and squirrels and cars. Anything that moves is fun to chase. He is small and means no harm... he is just programed to do this by breeding.
Crate: Little is quiet in his crate and goes into his kitchen crate on his own quite often just to rest and hang out. He sleeps in his crate every night next to my bed and does not whine or fuss. He even lets me take my shower in the morning and sleeps until I open his door. How nice and polite of him to be so patient!!!
Food: He is not food aggressive to dogs or people and eats slowly and is not a gulper. He will share toys and is laid back about bones and goodies. He loves treats and will dance for them or sit nicely.
Car Riding: He likes to go along and I strap him into his doggy car seat. I bet if I let him he would be one of those dogs in the back window riders or on my lap. That is not safe so he has to put up with the doggy car seat!!!
Walks: Little loves walks and is a little prancer boy and not into pulling your arm off. He stops and sniffs... likes to try and chase those critters we see and does think cars are there to outrun but we are working on ignoring cars and since I do not walk him on busy streets it poses no problem for us. I use a harness on his walks. We do not see too many people on our walks but usually we just walk on past with no problems if we do see someone. We try and go on a couple walks a day.
Energy Level: Little is not hyper. In the house he would sit on my lap a long time if he could. He does like to play with my dogs and with toys but it does not last that long and then he is back to being curled up on the couch or in his crate on his blanket. He also will snuggle up with my dogs.
Potty Habits: At my house Little has not had an accident for a while now. He originally did mark because he was nervous and new... it is common with male dogs. I thought he possibly marked out of anxiety at the start of his stay as the poor little boy had been through so many changes. He now seems much more calm and also since the weather is warmer we have been outside more. He is now doing so well and I do not really worry about him having accidents... especially if we have taken out walk! He is doing very well and should pose no problem once he is settled into your home.
Bad habit: Little does climb like a cat if he thinks there is something interesting up on the table. So I just know to keep all food on the counter where he cannot reach it. It is really kinda cute when he is up there though. LOL!
Meeting new people in the home: Little gets nervous and kinda barky when new people come into the home. He is never trying to harm anyone as his tail is wagging the whole time but he does bark and pace around not quite sure what he should do. I find the best is to just have people come into the home and sit down and then bring Little out to meet them. He wants to say hi and be a sweet dude. I usually just hold Little and then he is calm and quiet. Once he starts to know everyone he settles down and always takes treats. Mmmmm!
Grooming: He is great in the tub, for brushing and fur trims. He likes to be fussed over. He is a light shedder but nothing much. His fur is not soft but more like a terrier fur. I love how his ears are up and down and his head fur looks like a bushy dandelion. So CUTE!!! He also wears clothing and looks very dapper in a sweater or cute shirt!
Kids: I think Little would be ok with older kids but running kids as in younger kids he might chase or bark at when they play. Little would be a great companion dog for anyone who is just needing a lap warmer or walking buddy. He also loves all dog friends and could be a nice pal for you and your fur baby. I do not have a cat but he is no bigger than a cat so that should be ok but I have not tried him with a cat.

Friday with my boy Little!
Some days I’m Little and other days I like to be BIG! So I climb up high and check out the scenery!
Hi foster mom!!!
Listening to my mom telling me I’m sooooo CUTE!!!
Hanging out with my friend Asti. We sometimes sleep snuggled together. We are Bffs.
If you need a BFF I could be that! I like people snuggles too!

Friday :)
So I learned today as I did laundry that Little steals socks! And maybe other things too!!! ๐
Shoes are rather tempting as well! I guess he likes feet stuff!
Otherwise he’s been a good little dude! I still gate him in the kitchen when I leave the house and when upstairs he still uses his belly band because there is so much carpet. I guess I just don’t want to chance it yet.
He eats fine, sleeps in his crate at bedtime and is still my snuggle boy whenever I sit down. He adores a lap!!! He hops right up!!!
He has the cutest face don’t you agree?!?

What’s new?
Little decided it was definitely snuggle time!!! ๐
He means business!!!
When we leave for work etc we just put up a gate and he hangs out in the kitchen in a bed. We have never come home to a mess or any destruction. Of course we make sure not to leave out things of value and he’s got plenty of toys available to play with.
Little does love to chew my husband’s leather shoes. ๐ oops! We did Make a mistake there one night. It was hubby’s fault. Little just thought they were a toy!!!
So that’s the one thing we need to be careful about keeping out of his reach.

In case you noticed Little stole Parson’s treat later I did give Parson one. Haha! When I watched the video I realized he had gotten jipped!

Fancy Dancy
I’m really not sure how you can resist my furry Racoon mixed with Hedgehog boy!
His fur is a fluff ball with stick legs. Comical and cute!
The bestest boy!!!
๐ฆ
We have never heard Little bark. He is quiet so far.
Here he is cuddled up on a pillow.
Sweet boy.
Sunny Sunday
After a quiet nights rest and a morning trip outside in the yard for potties Little is inside on every foster dogs fav spot. The red love seat! Never met a foster who doesn’t adore this little couch. Little is tossing around a toy that barks. You are not hearing things! ๐
Breakfast time!
Little is a nibbler and leaves a few crumbs on the floor with his tiny teeth. I’d say a small dog kibble is best. Little needs little nuggets!
He ate half his food and so I will pick it up or the ‘circling hawks’, known as my two terriers, Parson and Asti, will gobble up the remnants in a split second.
... and back to the love seat! What a cutie and easy little dude!
So the big question that’s looming in everyone’s mind:
IS HE POTTY TRAINED???
Well, I’ve had him only since Friday evening.
He did mark, lift his leg to leave his ‘calling card’ but most every male foster does that. So, evening number one he wore a belly band. It’s like a boy dog diaper that wraps around to keep the potty contained. Next day he was much better but I used the belly band somewhat, just in case. Today I have not bothered with it. He has done all real potties and pooping outside so far.
So by next week I’ll know more but for now... he’s doing GREAT!
I want you to know I have him on my first floor. If we went upstairs to the bedrooms I’d put on the belly band again. It’s too tempting to mark upstairs. It’s like a new world he has to claim. This is all normal! He is a typical foster dog. I get very few who never try to mark. He sleeps in the crate in my bedroom. 100% dry!
He is comfortable here. My dogs are older, 6 and 7, and are respectful. There is no competition or craziness. It’s super calm and chill so all I can say is he’s doing great at my house in every aspect. I would adopt Little in a heart beat!!! ๐

Saturday is here!
First Saturday at my foster home. I’m enjoying a soft robe to be held on and snuggles. It’s what I do best. I’m a “cuddle wuddle”!!! If that’s a breed I’d fit it to a T!!!
My foster mom said to tell you I slept like a log in my crate all night. Zero disruptions or whining in the morning. The crate was in the bedroom and it was super duper cozy with a big pillow and blanket! That’s my style. Cozy!
Our first walk!!!
I’m very happy I chose Little as my foster! He’s a goodie!!! ❤️
One ear up and one bent down.
My guess he is part Yorkie.
Part Shih Tzu
And something else that has longer legs.
It would be interesting to do a DNA test on our Alabama special!
I don’t see too much shedding but there may be some light shedding.

LITTLE is here! Welcome!
A BIG welcome to LITTLE!
He is on evening #1 at our house and we think he’s very special indeed. So far I know he can ride in a crate for over two hours without a peep. He loves my dogs and met them with not one grrrr. He ate some treats, gives soft kisses, loves snuggling on my lap and poses with one foot up.
Isn’t that pose extremely adorable?!?
A little Glamour-shot!! ๐
P.S.
Below...me trying to post these pics:
Ummmm... Little... my arm is now your pillow?!? ๐
I wuv him!

Leg hugs
Kix is not a lap sitter but he does snuggle on his own terms. He always jumps up by me and tucks himself in. He loves petting and scritches in the head. He just needs to be free to hop up n down. He’s a water bug... zing this way... zoom that. He has speed and flits around but loves to land next to mom. We adore our zippy boy.

Cute bow alert
Kix got a little beard trim the other day. He looks so cute in a bow!!!
Today he was gated With my 2 dogs in my kitchen for approximately six hours as I was working and all was well. He did have a potty pad laid down on the floor for emergencies but he did not use it and all was dry. When I got home he ran outside and he pottied with my two dogs out in the yard!
Way to go little guy!!! ๐๐๐

Here Parson is trying to sleep and Kix is on top of him. He just has to be snuggled up with another dog. If you have a dog who needs a snuggle bud... here he is! Kixie!!! Of course YOU have to love Kix first. Your dog’s snuggle needs are just the cherry on top!

Love this one... only his head shows! ๐ฅฐ
Sweaters keep him warm but he’s athletic and can jump up easily on the couch. He’s a little speed buggy!!

Progress
This morning Kix crawled into my lap for a snuggle. I was very excited about that. He usually sits next to me! Every day, inch by inch, he is gaining trust. I sure wish it was summer so we could go outside and do fun things in the yard!
Kix is a good lil’ eater and enjoys his food! He likes most treats and loves peanuts! Maybe because he is Peanut size?!?

Weekend update...
Kix had a good weekend. He is getting so much more friendly. He stops and stands now when I go to pick him up. He let me clip his toenails with no problem. I found out his birthday is actually 5-16-18. So he was born in May and not June. If you are looking for a pal and like very small dogs Kix is looking for his forever home. Rescue.fluffydog.net is where you will find the application.

Kix pictures
Kix is doing great! He loves to snuggle with his foster mom (me) and loves our resident dogs. He is starting to show us his adorable personality! It will take time for him to trust all people but he bonds pretty fast to his momma. He’s fine with my husband too but not like me. Love is all he needs!!!❤️๐๐❤️
