lil more updates...

We have managed to show her the finer points of life in a house! Lotus is 'up on my bed'. She loves it! Hee hee!

Potty training report: Only one potty accident the whole time she's been here. That was during a downpour of rain when she did not want to go outside and either did I. Kinda my fault for leaving her run around when I knew she should get outside! 

Her pooping habits are kind of funny… She always runs to the far end of the yard in the morning and often hides behind a bush or goes in the landscape bark and then peers over her shoulder like she doesn't want anybody to watch her. She is a private little thing! Afterward she bounds to me with her waggy tail and I give her lots of 'at a girls' !!! 💩👍🏻 

So she is easy easy easy in her bathroom habits! 🙃

Just for fun we call her our Muppet! She is so cute and Muppet-like! Ha! That face!!! 

As we get to know her the puppyish-ness is coming out! She's quite silly and is getting a bit more zoomie and playful! 🐾

Busy day... nappies!

Almost bed time for both of us! Lotus never jumped up on the couch till today (we kinda encouraged her) and she does like to cuddle. Snoozing by my tennies! 💓 Lotus does not seem to shed so we love her next to us on the couch! The more--the merrier!!! 

 
 
 

 

First walk...

Lotus is a very good walker! No pulling or being afraid. She did weave a bit but overall was EXCELLENT! I think Lotus is just a wonderful family dog! I just love everything about her!!! 

Later chewing on a bone on the plush bed! Such an easy keeper!!!

Rainy morning...so she finds a toy to toss! How fun 😂!!!

GREAT night

Miss Lotus slept so well last night. She stayed in a crate in our bedroom on a blanket right next to my side of the bed. In the morning I opened her door and out she came, tail wagging and bounded down the stairs and outside to do her business. Good girl!!! 

Then she came in and ate her breakfast, a bowl of kibble. Crunch munch. Above is a pic of her in the super cute way she lays on the floor. She does this often! Awwwww!!! Head down between paws looking at you with her big eyes! IRRESISTIBLE !!!

Lotus is the new foster dog at our house! We adore her! She's clownish and cute and super sweet! She enjoys people and is dog friendly! ❤️

CONGRATS to Ramona and her guys! So many people were cheering for Mona to find the perfect home! I think her 'fairy tail' came true! Not one but two princes! 👑👑 happily ever after! #adopted

 

dang cute!

This dog is so dang cute! I could take a zillion pics.... yeah, I just about do! 📷  She isn't your fluffy-wuffy puppy cute but more of a rescue dog "I need love" cute! #myfav If it dries out I must get a better video of her prancing. It's like nothing I've seen before! If you ever saw a high step horse she can do that. It's cool! I even asked Lori, who is the Director at Fluffy, if she could tell me what breed prances. She said she's never seen a dog prance like our Mo! Lol! She is 1 in a million! 

So enough gushing... what else can I tell you:

1.We are working on potty training. I have a fenced yard and she goes out and potties easily. We are getting the hang of pooping outside too. It takes a little patience because of all the rain but she's doing good there as well and I think will be pretty easy to train if you keep it positive. She's sensitive so lots of rewards! She loves chicken!

2. I feed her in her crate. She will grrrr at a dog if they get too close sometimes to her crate. That's no biggie. Lots do that in the beginning. It's how they talk to each other. She is fine with me because she trusts me. She is a little scared of my husband but that just takes time. He needs to give her more chicken, 😉!

3. I took off her dragger leash because she doesn't need it. She comes when I call her. She knows Mona or Ramona but you can change it if you adopt her. 

4. When I leave she whines for me for a while but settles down in about 10 minutes. 💓 Mona loves her person! 

5. Ramona will need time to adjust to a new home. Not a long time but a few days. She's had a lot happen to her. Once she trusts you though she is FABULOUS! I adore this little one! Don't freak out if she growls over something that makes her scared. She is fine. Every day here she is better and better. Another tough one to let go of! 

Someone will hit the jackpot with this little bundle!

walk!

Ramona had a great nights sleep! Quiet in her crate in my bedroom all night!  We went on a short walk this morning. Here is a video! Miss prancy paws! So far she had breakfast and pottied and pooped outside! She loves to chew on hoofs and is a good girl! Very calm and gentle! 💓

Such a cold rainy night! Watching Netflix with my #adorbs buddy! She is such a SNUGGLER! ❤️

 

Mona videos!

At first I have new fosters drag a leash so it's easy to guide them. Once they settle in we take it off. Mona is doing SO well! She prances when she walks! I think due to just having puppies she is losing some fur and shedding a bit but it will grow in after hormones settle down! She is only three days into her spay but can go home anytime as  she is doing well ...doesn't seem to bother her at all! As you can see in my video she is very loving and goes to her person for comfort… I love that! 😍

Later she kept busy chewing a Nyla bone and a hoof! So far Mo is a quiet dog. Doesn't get into stuff! Content to be on her big pillow. She carries her treasures (bones and chews) there and chomps away! She's a treasure herself! 💎

1 Month!

The D-Gang has been at my house about 1 month! It flew by! We are winding down to adoption day. Aka 'Gotcha Day'! 

I just realized I no longer really need bandanas on them to tell them apart!

Here is my trick:

Darcie's mustache usually lays smooth!

Dougies is turned up 'quite often' like Colonel Mustard (from the game Clue). 

Of course their little bodies are shaped differently too but when they both look at you check out the mustache! Dead giveaway!! Hahaha!!! 

So after 1 month I'd say they are settled and life is easy. Everything is pretty fixed up!!! 😎 !!

Darcy is walking better on leash. Dougie is eating better. Toothies are shiny and gums are healed. All shots are caught up and vetting up to snuff. Barking is way less as they are less stressed. Potties and doo-ties are done outside. Sleeping is quiet and they head right to their blankets. They are trusted out and about in the house. Routines are established and when I leave for work they wave by mom with their paws! (So that may be an exaggeration) ... okay, in reality they no longer crowd the door but just watch me head out. They know I'll be back later. "It's all good"!!!

It's been such a blast and privilege! I feel really great that they are ready to fly soon from the foster nest to their furever nest!

Let's go kids! Time to go visit Animal House Vet Clinic! Good riders! Darcie in the car seat and Dougie again riding shot gun. 

In our room waiting for Dr Kelly! These two hams are up and down off the chair. They were a bit nervous but great patients. Dougie still has his stitches in his gums. If they don't dissolve they will clip them out in about a week!  Both got their last shots. Many people in the waiting room admired them!! 

Well of course... what's not to admire?!? Such CUTIES!!!

Darcie says "thanks for the walk! It was FUN!!!" Darcie girl loves her walks! She is not the best walker but I don't have the heart to tell her!!! Dougie does so well ...and then their is Darcie! 😬😳😂! Hey, she's so enjoying it even though she can't stay in a straight line! LOL!!!
