Stop and read!!!
Before you open up your computer and start applying for Lila because she's so CUUUTE… Consider this:
Lila is not a Polly Pocket! She is a dog... a dog mixed with poodle and maybe Yorkie! That is a terrier… Terriers can be yappy and can have a prey-drive and can have terrier-tude!!! I don't consider her yappy but she does alert to sounds!! Grrr or bark bark!!!
Lila could easily get "small dog syndrome" if u are not her boss! I didn't say to be bossy what I meant was you will need to be the leader! Otherwise Lila will think she is your boss and lead you to do her will! :) Are you committed to love her but also lead her?
Lila is young and has energy… I call her a waterbug...because she flits around the room very fast and furious...snooping under beds... on top of couches... climbing here and there and yes even putting her fuzz-head in the bathroom garbage to find Kleenex! She does not sit pretty on a chair like a stuffed animal… She is a dog… Possibly part terrier! Are you ready for a zippy little bug who loves to explore or would a dog who snoozes the day away be more to your liking?
Lila is a female dog and may boss another dog around because well, she's a female dog! Not that male dogs don't do this too but I seem to find females do it more! She may snap or growl at another female dog or any dog for that matter if she wants to be the dominant one! This behavior was reported by Lila's 4-day adopter… I have never seen her do this at my house. (Yes, she has growled over a cow hoof) She and both my dogs (male and female) get along quite well and are playful but also respectful of each other in most situations.
Lila is also very small, only 5 pounds, if you have big dogs this might not be an ideal match as she could get hurt. Also little kids carrying her and potentially dropping her... not a good match! So consider if a very small dog is appropriate for your home. She could get under your feet and trip you too...because… like I said she is a waterbug!
Lila also can be a little overbearing with wanting to be with her mommy-- she attaches quickly and firmly and will be your shadow every minute!!! Is this OK with you or are you the independent type? Think about who YOU are and if you want a lap dog 24/7!
Lila is a lovely and well behaved little girl, she loves to snuggle --she is for the most part potty trained--knows tricks--walks well on a leash and is excellent in the car!! She has our routine figured out and goes right into her crate when I go to work and is quite. I love her to pieces and I know in the right home she will be cherished. Lila will reward all your efforts by being your bestest fur-girl and love you unconditionally! I really want the next adoption to be her last adoption and for it to be the right fit for my little 5 pound fuzzy headed bug!
So, "before" you apply think it over carefully and then decide if you really want to be Lila's FOREVER mommy!
