So today I was home all day! I had plans to do things but never really left the house except for testing how Boomer did without a crate. I usually use a free app called Manything but my old ancient iPad was acting up. I finally got things to work ‘a little’ and from what I could tell Boomer did fine when not crated. He just kinda walked around. Now he does have my two dogs here as pals, too. He was not barking or upset though so ... yay!! Maybe this is the answer?!
