He had to encounter a road worker this morning putting out orange barrels. Strange man, strange barrels. Hmmmm! We stopped and started... Walked a bit farther... Stopped...waited...started again. Just be patient! Eventually Kennedy decided it was "safe" and we walked on past! Yeah! This is something 2 weeks ago he could never have done. Progress is AWESOME!
Hellooooo Tuesday...Below is a pic of our very steep attic stairs! One of Kennedy's FAVORITE things to do now is climb up and down.
Why? Simple... One slightly messy college guy is home and living up there. That means it's a scavenge hunt for left over chip's crumbs etc!!!
Also he just loves sitting up there with the 3 window dormers open as there is a great cross breeze blowing around. It's an awesome space in our house!
Last night Kennedy was not tired.. it was like he got a second wind around 11pm. I'm a late night person too so I can relate to the second wind thing! He had just way too much fun hanging out in the attic last night going up and down, sniffing around looking for food crumbs and hopping up on my son's bed.
Here he is at it again this morning!
So Kennedy has checked out the attic this morning and now is ready for the rest of the day. I am certain he will be back up to the attic later on for another treasure hunt for more "goodies"!!! At least he is having fun and finding out that people are pretty nice around here and attics are fun to explore... even when you are a dog. :) Attic treasures are awesome!!!
PS We met the road workers again today on our morning walk. This time there were barrels and diggers and "3" men working on the road construction. Kennedy braved it all! We also met our neighbor man walking his bichon/poodle mix. Kennedy was happy to say hello with a very waggy friendly tail. What a GOOD boy!
Tonight Kennedy reached out his little white paw and took a giant step into the unknown! He walked on the busy Fox River Trail! Woot woot!!!
He sometimes loved it and sometimes hated it but all in all he conquered it! We will continue to march forward with these walks until it becomes less scary and more familiar.
I will admit he was super happy to finally get back home and ran around the back yard as if to celebrate his return from battle! Ha!
This brave little soldier boy is definitely winning his personal "war of the unknown" and everyone I spoke with on the trail is now rooting for him!!!
We are lazy today. We drove to the dog park but it looked too busy so we just watched for a bit. Maybe on a quiet day we will get out and try it. Dogs were ready... Foster mom was not, haha!!!
We instead walked around the block at home. Now the dogs are relaxing. (See photo below) Kennedy is sooo ready to find his family! He is just lovely. If I didn't already have a dog and enjoy fostering others he would be staying! Someone is going to be really blessed when they get him!!
My little sweetie watching me get ready in the morning from just outside the bathroom door. Love him!!!
And then he had to go get his toys! MUST have toys! Really now... this boy is a big marshmallow at heart!
